Forsaken

There is a girl
Who was once calm, happy, in love with life
Until one day
She started to forget her maker
And her world began to turn upside down
Everything so right began to turn so wrong
And she didn't realize
That she had abandoned her God
Until one night
When she needed him most
She poured out her soul upon the ground
But her heavenly father had forsaken her
And saw not the troubles aching in her bosom
How she longed to call out for him
To beg for his forgiveness
Yet, it had been too long
And her maker no longer looked with love on her
So her tears soaked the unforgiving soil
And her burdens remained buried
Deep within her breast
And she recieved no absolution to dry her tears
So here she sits
Praying that her heavenly father will one day return to her
And she can dwell in his blessing once more
