Sisters
When we were little children
We did everything together
I was so young and naive
I thought you'd be there forever
But then the day came
When you grew up and met that guy
And, before I knew it
It was time to say good-bye
I felt so crushed inside
But it seemed like your dream come true
So I put my feelings aside
And tried to be happy for you
The wedding was so beautiful
I was bursting with pride
But the moment I got home
I just sat down and cried
That was when it really hit
You weren't coming home
And suddenly, looking around
I felt very alone
With you gone, something was missing
I don't think you even knew
Just how much you meant
And how much I care about you
I know we weren't the best sisters
I know we always fought
But it takes someone being gone
To realize they mean a lot
Then some time went by
I'd finally rebuilt my life
I was feeling pretty stable
And everything felt right
Yet even now sometimes at night
When I lay down to sleep
Those memories come back to me
And my life feels incomplete
When I think of you those times
And a tear rolls down my cheek
There's nothing I can do
But close my eyes and try to sleep
