Pat Burke & Will Gibson came to look at the timber and
claims but decided not to take any-
Sunday, May 20, 1900
- Sunday - the boys all quit the unsurveyed land. We left our
tent where it stood amid the Pine Forrest. I went to Ed
Nifonges and Anthony went down to Santa P.O. to get his
pony and then he came there too. we slept in the barn. He
gave us supper and breakfast.
Monday, May 21, 1900
We started back to Collins and bid good bye to our friends
and the St. Maries country. It rained all day and we were all
wet and cold. We went to H. Woods cabin and stayed all
night it seemed awful good to get under shelter that night.
We could hardly get a fire.
Tuesday, May 22, 1900
We went to look over our claims and stayed a second night at
the cabin.
Wednesday, May 23, 1900
We started for Collins and got there at noon and worked a
few days for A. Fire for our board.
Sunday, May 27, 1900
We commenced working a few days for Swenson.
Wednesday, May 30, 1900
We went to the Elk Creek Country.
Friday, June 01, 1900
We camped on the half moon meadows and looked the
country over - we saw a big bear.
Saturday, June 02, 1900
I shot a deer but did not get it.
Monday, June 04, 1900
We moved to the Elk Creek Meadows.
