(Drags out soapbox...)"Christians" should try to live the example of the Christ. But I see them praying out loud in crowds, with their hands up in the air, putting fish decals on their cars. In Florida there's a church in revival carrying a sequined and glittering banner of God... a showy prostitution just to dazzle the audience...and people fall for it, and they go and think they've been touched. Well, they have. Energy will thrive in groups of excited people, be they praying out loud or rioting in the street. Healings occur when people think they have been healed anyplace, and any time. Whenever Jesus healed he first asked "Do you believe I can do this?".
In the midst of hypocrisy and showmanship, I have abandoned the words from the pulpit and sought out the calm, serene man named Jesus and tried to find out his message. You won't hear it in a church, because Jesus said to pray in a closet. You won't hear it from another "Christian" because they're just accepting what they were told in CHURCH. You have to seek his face in privacy, without the whooping and hollering and AUDIENCE to witness your touch with spirit. And you'll find he is more akin to Yoga, meditation, fasting, quietude... Surely he is looking down upon what his name represents here and is hanging his head in shame. It does not reflect his teachings. There is hope, though. The CHURCH realizes that people aren't buying the old scare tactic that used to work so well. Here is a recent article from USA Today: Click Here
