went to the mall this morning.. I needed to get a few things in general.. so I stopped by to see if I liked the jacket that I saw on sale the other day.. See.. I went shopping for a suit coat the other day with my mother.. we found two at filene's.. and she said they looked good on me. I attempted to wear them on wednesday fot the interview, and I hated them both.. so they are going back.. I went back to filenes, and found another jacket and suprisingly matching pants.. (which is suprising, since my top and bottom are not the same size) then shopping around I found another one I kinda liked, and shockingly it was $7.00. Found a matching skirt, and that wasn't marked down as well, was still $40.00 so I skipped the skirt. I then went to the burlington coat factory and found a really cool wedding present for crink, and a equally cool blue shirt for me... really brings out the color of my eyes.. I have GOT to stop buying clothes.. but Im so short of decent work clothes it isn't funny.. If I find a job where I can work in jeans then Im covered.. but if not.. I'm going to have to go on a shopping spree.
Came home and made potstickers.. I made turkey ones the other day, and they were so so.. but I thought they would be way better with pork.. so I got some pork, and mixed it with the remaining turkey. I ran out of wonton rappers... so I fried up the remaining beef, and cooked some cabbage and used the cabbage leaves as wrappers and had that for supper tonight.. man that was delicious. (make note.. I am calling something delicious and it doesn't have cheese in it!!) I made three dozen the regular way and froze them.. I think this is going to be a regular occurance.
Got a birthday party in massachuettes (man one of these days I am so going to have to learn how to spell that) tomorrow. Also want to go to the movies this weekend.. *yawn* its almost one am.. should probably head off to bed.
Ok ok.. you all win.. *breaks down and joins the friday five
1. What's your favorite animal? I have to pick just one? well im not playing that game.. lets see.. cats large and domesticated, turtles, rabbits, polar bears.. .
2. What pets have you had in your lifetime? Started off with George the cat.. he died of cancer (his face fell off.. *agrees with the eewww*), then had smokey the cat.. he stayed with my parents when I left home, they eventually put him down due to old age seziures. I had a hamster while living at home for a day.. mom made me bring it back to the store. I got another hamster while I was in the college dorm (and yes.. I had a hotplate and a microwave too.. ).. Got Tigger the cat as my first pet in my new appartment.. then a hamster corey... then another kitty cause tig wasn't overtly friendly.. which turned out to be Em.. *scratches em's chin* or emerald as her real name.. got Tobin the rabbit for a birthday present for myself a few years later.. (man I wish he was more friendly.. he's such a loner) and just under three years ago (MAN.. he's THAT old?!?!) I got Ollie.. the maine coon cat.. (watches em walk across me and sniff the computer screen)
3. Is there any specific pet that you've wanted but never had? Why? a leapord, cause where would he sleep? They don't make beds big enough for that :) I also dreamed of having a dolphin when I was a kid.. but my parents would never get a pool.. *grin*
4. Are you allergic to any animals? Yup.. my rabbit.. and probably my kitties to a degree.. My lungs and sinuses are "overly sensitive" so dust and fine bunny hairs gives me major problems.. so its probably a good thing in the long run that Tobin is a loner.. but it isn't stopping me in the least from wanting that rabbit at the shelter who jumped up on my lap..
5. Do you have any 'pet' pet peeves (your pets or others')? Well the two large dogs that roam around my neighborhood really tick me off.. Yes.. i live in a cul de sac, and they are safe, but technically they are stray dogs when their owners let them loose like that (i know.. I saw the law) and yes.. Ive called the animal control officer on them a couple of times... when I have a dog the size of cujo on my back porch, I get a little testy.. Ollie jumping up on the counter (which he KNOWS he is not supposed to do) and stealing my asparagus is another.. (I get to find it half chewed in the living room and behind the bed) Ranted by ~*Connie*~ at 12:28 AM

I love you man. You are probably the drink with the most fan clubs ever. A lot of people depend of you and your caffeine content to keep them up all night. Others are just addicted. Find your inner cola.
long time no post hun? Well a few things have been up with me.. been off line most of the time (sin of sins hun?) Tuesday I went down to the animal shelter to start volunteering again.. :) Im in the office answering phones and doing paperwork for now.. then when Im sick of that I get to go into the cat room and cuddle kitties and bunnies. Yup.. they have a ton of bunnies.. one of them bit me.. the tiniest one.. he's a little defensive of his cage.. they have one bunny who is everything a bunny should be. I very much want to bring her home.. Tobin is a boy bunny.. we might be able to keep them together.. :) See.. tobin is a dwarf.. and an anti social dwarf. Didn't matter how much I tried to socialize him, he'll never hop up to you and sit on your lap. He likes being held and doesn't mind people, but he'd rather be left alone.. and I can respect that. This bunny is the sweetest thing.. hopped right up to me and let me pat her, and when I put her on the floor she hung around my ankles, and when I sat down on the floor with her she hopped up on my lap.. I want him.. (not to be confused with I will get her.. I think its probably best to leave her there and let her go to a good home.. but I think I'll make mention that if she doesn't find a good home I want her)
ANYWAY.. there are a couple of cats there that just break your heart.. owners who have had them for years and years but gave them up for one reason or another.. one went into a nursing home.. (that poor adorable kitty has been there since november) another died, and the third had a baby. Which I have to say is repulsive to me. but I probably shouldn't get into that arguement. When I was leaving, I peaked into the incoming room.. there was a younger cat (maybe 9 months) who was an orange tabby.. (something Ive always wanted) This kitty was the most adorable thing Id seen in a while. There was no one in the room (staff are only allowed in that room for security reasons) the kitty was reaching out of the cage trying to get someone's attention for one reason or another. one arm didn't work, so he stuck both arms out.. that wasn't working either, so he flipped upside down. the cat looked like he was doing a backbend with his arms outside the cage.. it was such a riot. I watched him for a while longer.. he totally flipped over at one point.. laying on his back trying to reach some unknown goal.. I just wanted to run in there and grab him and bring him home.. but again.. I didn't.. (they kinda would have frowned on that too) but oh he was ever so cute. I love kitties that make me laugh..
they also had a cage in the front lobby of a few kitties that had just come in that were terrified. I feel so bad for cats that are new to the shelter cause you know that all of the human contact they have had for the past few days have been someone poking them, or proding them, or moving them to clean their cage. I know the people who work there care about them, and the volunteers who clean their cages do as well.. but .... doesn't stop me from being glad im there to give them a little kitty lovin.
This morning I went on the job interview. I like the sound of the job. Its 36 hours.. four days a week. great benifits..26 days off a year, 401k with 75% match up to 6%.. 90% covered health insurance, and since it is for a group of doctors, I get to see any of them for free.. Id be stupid to not want this job.. I do want this job.. but I don't know if Im ready to go back to work yet.. *remembers the really cool fridge and stove I saw at sears the other night and remembers the pool table I want, and the air purifier I want.. and thinks maybe just maybe its that time* :) Ranted by ~*Connie*~ at 3:48 PM
sometimes I really love the bible quote of the day I get in my email.. Im telling you, they have got to be peaking over my shoulder sometimes.. For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
went to see 'the time machine' over the weekend.. Ive never seen the original nor have i read the book.. now i want to do both.. was very cool stand alone movie. I think I was a little emotional that day though.. cause I not only got teary eyed at the ending, but also at a preview for a new animated movie called spirit..
BTW.. make sure you go see 'ice age' cause that's going to be your first chance to see on the big screen the trailer for 'attack of the clones' *rolls eyes* Ranted by ~*Connie*~ at 11:05 AM

been running through the pro's and con's of going back to work.. I think the job being offered would be interesting and challenging, which would be nice, but I would have to give up volunteering at the animal shelter which would be bad. I'd have money for cool things, but then Id have to be at work all day so would I be able to enjoy them?? aarrgh.. Im going to go on the interview, and we'll see what happens.. chances are I'll never be offered the job, so all the 'worry' will be for nothing.
Went to the mall yesterday.. man I love shopping this time of year. Got 100$ coat for 22$ and two 50$ shirts for 7$ a piece. Went to sears, and it was sears appreciation day.. so I actually asked the guy if he'd come home with me and get my kitten out of a tree.. he rolled his eyes.. I laughed and said at least I hadn't asked him to come mow my lawn. Apparently he hates those commercials.. guess I can't blame him.
Rained last night, badly.. and the wind was howling. I woke up at two am sick to my stomach for what ever reason, so I got on line and played some games at iwon.com. I am totally addicted to a few of their games. I made wizard first class in alchamy, and got a score of 115k in Collapse, Was totally impressed with myself.. but anyway.. back to the rain.. at about 5am I was feeling well enough to go back to bed.. I first went to the kitchen to look outside to see it rain.. don't know why.. cause it was still dark.. but I stepped in a great big puddle.. apparently the wind pushed a ton of water under my back door, the puddle reached all the way inside the house and was a few feet from the inside wall.fortunately it didn't really get anything at all.. probably would have though if I had just gone to bed and not put towels down to soak it up. but low and behold.. my car did NOT leak.. yea!! (for those of you that don't know.. my last convertable would have been a fishbowl after a rainstorm like that.. it leaked badly) Ranted by ~*Connie*~ at 4:52 PM

aaarrggh..
oh great.. im in yet another tizzy.. Phone just rang.. I stopped answering it back in January, cause its always a telemarketer.. but this time it was for a job.. I should go call them back.. but I don't want to go back to work yet.. but I should go back to work.. no reason not for me to work.. ok that fragmented sentance didn't make any sence.. *pulls at hair* don't these people know they aren't supposed to call me?!?!?! *stands up on soap box and screams in frustration*
Oh my goodness.. sometimes life just conspires against you.. doesn't it? Should make mental note to not put things off.. not that it will ever help.. lol.
Ok.. well to start off with, one of my credit cards had an unauthorized charge on it.. Some how a dating service in the UK got my credit card number and was charging me 9.95$ per month.. (which is even stranger when you go to their website and realize they don't have a 9.95$ a month plan for their dating services) I called my credit card company and told them, and they sent me a form to fill out to dispute the charge. when the form finally showed up, there was a line that said if there is a totally bogus charge on your card, you need to call lost and stolen (my card was neither lost nor stolen as it was sitting next to my monitor unused for two months.. but that is beside the point) Why couldn't the first chick tell me that?? she knew the circumstances behind the charge, cause I told her. *rolls eyes* anyway.. I called lost and stolen on monday.. and the woman who answered the phone new about this company.. she said she would have to cancel my card and send me out a new one, and a fraud form to fill out as well.. Well today I got notification that a new charge is on my card.. in fact two new charges.. one on monday.. and one yesterday.. odd thing is though, the card is indeed canceled.. i called to double check.
Also, I have been trying to track down some stock and what a run around that has been.. email here.. no.. email there.. call here.. no.. call there.. blech! see years ago I worked for the local grocery store and purchased stock through their stock purchase program. Last year the store was bought out by delhaise.. I turned in my stock, and got new stock for delhaise. I submitted a form to reinvest my dividends to purchase more stock, but the company didn't have any idea who I was. Well I was too frustrated by life at the time to deal with it.. I figured since I had the stock certificate life was good. But alas.. it was not.. see delhaise is now delhaise de lion, and I need yet another certificate.. and I only get 0.4 shares of de lion for each stock I own now.. how crappy is that?? I do NOT like the idea of mailing this certificate in.. I have a history of having stuff I send in the mail get lost.. like my unemployment card.. which btw I ended up getting a replacement for, and I finally got paid yesterday for two weeks.. yea.. i have money..
I know there is something else big on my todo list.. can't think of what it is off the top of my head.. hum.. *goes off and gathers up the mail* Oh yea.. E*trade.. doesnt that tick me off.. They are going to start charging me $25.00 a month.. and the only way I can close out my account is to sell the stock I opened the account to buy, or buy a certificate from them for $30.00.. I hate etrade..
I also WD40'd a few doors in my house today.. I was SICK and tired of being woken up by their squeaking. I also worked out this morning.. Took it kind of light, as I am still kinda congested in the lungs.. I want to finish today's work out before I take a shower.. which is motivation in and of its self, cause Im kinda stinky *giggle*
Happy the man and happy he alone,
he who can call today his own. He who, secure within can say, tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today
