So, would you like to see some of my creations?
|
"Housewarming Sampler" (somewhat modified) from Better Homes and Gardens August 1992 Finished size: 46 by 39cm. My first sampler. Stitched on 14 count aida cloth with DMC stranded cotton. The cat to the right of the house was added as a personal touch and was based on our previous cat "Furball" (named by the kiddlywinks, not me! ) |

Assisi Seahorse design. Finished size: 29 by 24cm. DMC floss in black for outline. Filled in with pale blue and silver Madeira silk thread on cream 28 count "Linda". |
Spanish Blackwork Sampler. Finished size:29 by 24cm. Black DMC stranded cotton on 28 count cream "Linda". This and the above Seahorse were made as a gift for my big sister. |

Cross stitch design from Better Homes and Gardens August 1992. Finished size: 25 by 58cm. Tiger lily stamens have been beaded. This one will remain mine forever. The pansies were stitched as I sat at my mother's bedside, for the last time, as she lost her battle with bowel cancer in 1992. |
My first attempt (and certainly not my last) at hardanger. Finished size 8 inches. This form of needlework could be so addictive. Heck, I need to do another one of these to make a matching pair.... and then I'll need something to go in the middle.... and then something matching to go on the bedside tables and then.... *big smile* |
