Inks

Merry Meet again! Here are some inks that you may like. (And I will tell you how to make it at the same time. )

Enjoy!

rule

One way to make magical inks is to burn the end of a stick, not till it is ashes, but till it is black. Then write or illustrate your magical goal.

All magical inks require the use of sharpened quills or dip pens, the latter usually available at stationery or office supply stores. Practice using the pens before using it for magic.

Magical Ink 1

10 oz. Gall nuts
3 oz. Green Copperas
3 oz. Rock Alum or Gum Arabic.

Reduce all ingredients to a powder and place in a newly glazed earthen pot with river water. Make a fire of sprigs of fern gathered on St. John's Eve ( midsummer ) and vine twigs cut on the Full moon in March. Add virgin paper to this fire and set the pot over it. When the water boils the ink will be made.

Try out a few of these if you wish. If the liquid is too thin add a bit of gum arabic.

Magical Ink 2

Saffron essence makes a fine magical ink. But the price is exorbitant.

Magical Ink 3

Fresh poke berries, when crushed, produce a purple ink. The seeds are poisonous, so keep this ink out of your mouth.

Magical Ink 4

Beet juice makes a reddish ink. Add gum arabic if necessary.

Magical Ink 5

Try blackberry, boysenberry, or grape juice.

Invisible inks are easy. Use milk, lemon juice, and so on, written with a clean dip pen on white paper. To make appear, hold near a candle flame carefully, ( not too close, just enough so it will appear. ) until the image appears.

rule

Well, there they are. But don't thank me for them! If you want more get the book by Scott Cunningham called "The Complete Book of Oils, Incense, and Brews." All of this info came from him. So if you want A LOT more of the title get that book. Hehe. All I did was write some of it down in my own words.
Merry Part and Blessed Be.
