Every Time

Every time that you are near,
My heart bounds and leaps with joy;
Every time you leave once more,
I am filled with endless sorrow.

Every time I kiss your lips,
And feel your body pressed to mine,
My feelings for you increase much more,
Yet every time we part again,
I'm reminded of our "worldly duties."

But now the time is near
And I will soon thrill to your presence,
When you walk through my door,
When we sit and talk and laugh and hug,
I know that all my worries will be for naught,
Until you leave once more.
