You hold me in your strong arms.
No longer are they strained with contention.
Your voices no longer raised in alarm.
Our hearts beat together, no more tension.
The soft gentle caress of your lips on mine.
Your voice now comforts my broken heart.
For another, I no longer pine.
This is a new and better start.
I am no longer afraid to speak my mind.
You listen to the words I utter.
Your eyes look so completely kind.
Nothing under your breath to mutter!
A new beginning waits for me.
In this comfortable darkness,
there is no more anger to flee
and nothing left to confess.
