The Weathered Sigh

The rail pelts down and I watch from inside
It drums a beat on my room and my memories make me sigh.
Lightening flashes in the sky and I view the site in awe
It cuts a path in the sky from its strength I draw

Thunder crackles loudly booms, in my heart I skip a beat
It interrupts my reverie, it’s anger a rhythm I can’t repeat.
Clouds pour out their tears and I watch them pass by
They create a scene in the heavens and I am trying not to cry.

A rainbow appears with beauty and I remember a promise
It paints the sky with magnificence and I am impressed
The storm has gone away somewhere, I wish I’d gone there too.
It came and went so soon and that’s what I wish to do.

The sun shines now, bold and bright, it cheers my dampened soul.
The earth is covered with a warmth and I fell from it a pull.
The clouds have passed, the thunder gone,
The rain subsides and my tears are done.

I open my window, the storm is over and only traces remain
It has made all seem new, what happened to yesterday?
The breeze blows gently now and pushes me towards life
It caresses my tired faççade, his broken promise, no longer strife.

The evening shows a promise and I let escape a sigh.
All is once again new and so am I.
