Yep, all my poetry is original.
OK, a little about me. I will be 32 soon, having been born on the 17th of August of 1972. I started writing as an escape from my parents divorce. Of course at the time I was 6 and didn't know how to write quite yet, so it all stayed in my head.
I always have escaped in my writing. It's always been easier for me to deal with my factual realm poeticly.
I have a BA in History and a minor in Political Science.
I was publised by the International Libary of Poetry, though I don't think it really counts since they publish everyone. I was also published in my parent's newsletter when I was in grade school.
Most of the poetry between 1996 and 1998 deal with the breakup of a four year relationship. So it's therapeutic as well as a little whiney. In 1988 I met and dated another guy. His profile on AOL was the inspiration for Sunsets or Lingering or whatever I have titled it this week. That relationship also failed and for the latter part of 1998 I whined about him.
However, I do think that the poetry that I have written in 1999 has been my best. The writings from The Impeachment of the President to Opposite etisoppO are filled with a depth and emotion not seen in my rants on love. My 2001 poetry is scarce, finding little inspiration beyond September 11th.
I enjoy writing a lot. Poetry is what I feel I am good at. However, I do plan on starting to write short stories. I have written two. One that is basically a complaint about being a nursing assistant and another that prooves just how dick-whipped I was in my four year relationship!
