Let me tell you a story of a Mamutoi man
a man of distinction, his own biggest fan
He was different and special, or so it was said
the attention and praise soon went straight to his head

He was born far away, in a land cross the sea
but soon boy, mom and pop would all have to flee
the boat couldn't make it, so they swam for their lives
the two males came in safely, but mom never arrives

With sadness and guilt the man heads for his home
his spirit was gone, he would no longer roam
He'd traveled so far to find a woman to mate
and now she was dead, what a cruel twist of fate

The Mamutoi welcomed him, he was one of their kin
His sister, Nezzie had mated, so with her camp he moved in
Talut was the headman, of the new Lion Camp
The headwoman, Tulie, had two mates, what a tramp!

Now the boy he'd brought with him was like no one they'd seen
His skin was deep brown and his teeth seemed to gleam
His hair was so curly, and in ringlets it grew.
But Talut was quite pleased, he liked the strange and the new
Nezzie took the child to her heart and knew just what to do
She adopted the boy, and made him Mamutoi too.
Now this is the place that the story gets muddy
He's now the son of his aunt and legal heir of his daddy.

Not much is revealed about the boys early years
We know he liked being different and enjoyed all the stares
He became a carver of ivory and was the best, it was said
but somewhere in there, he got screwed up in the head.
His values seemed jaded, his life just a quest
good was not good enough, he wanted only the best
Finding beauty and perfection was his only goal
The facade was important, but where was the soul?

The boy became man.....but never found what he sought
Some women were good, but not perfect, he thought
Then someone appeared who fulfilled all his dreams.
The Mother Incarnate, he decided, it seems.

Ayla was perfect, not one single flaw
but the shell of the woman was all that he saw.
He loved her body, her eyes, her smile and her hair
but what was inside her, he just didn't care.

Ayla came with another, a man she loved deeply, she said
So why did the dark carver make her confused in the head?
The blonde man grew jealous and his anger was deep
So what did she do....go to Ranec's to sleep

Ranec looked and examined, he checked out his prize
She was just what he wanted, and just the right size.
He turned her and touched her, like some statue he'd found
"So perfect, so perfect". was his only sound.

Ranec went in like a Lion, but soon became just a lamb
Seems Ranec invented the slam, bam, thank you ma’am!
Now here was the problem...you see Ranec was hot
He "finished" too quickly and poor Ayla had not.

He did what he could to relieve her distress
but his chance had been blown, he'd made it a mess
Maybe that's why he waited to beg her again
He hoped she'd forget what a loser he'd been.

What he didn't know and would never have guessed
Ayla was just "servicing him" because he'd made a request.
A command that she claimed she just couldn't refuse
It meant nothing to her, she was his just to use.

But nothing would stop him, she was perfection.
He had to add Ayla to his "perfect collection"
He was thrilled to the core when the two lovers did part
He quickly stepped in and offered his heart.

Ranec begged and he pleaded, and after a while
She came to his bed, but just for a trial
She liked him okay...he wasn't that bad
And he didn't care if she really felt sad.

Ranec knew in his heart that she loved Jondalar still
But he had to possess her, so his dreams he'd fulfill
He'd convince her to Promise, then make her his mate
Then whatever Jondalar did, it would all be too late.

Mamut tried to warn him, of what lay ahead,
But he wouldn't listen, she was back in his bed.

His family knew well, that he would be hurt.
The nodded, and glanced but did nothing but smirk.

Then Ayla agreed, she'd be his woman, she said
He'd have his possession to take to his bed.
They shared Pleasures together, and not one thing more
Feelings, thoughts, and ideas, they did not explore.

Then Jondalar left, and Ayla was frantic
How could he leave just because she Promised Ranec?
When they returned, things were all peachy and keen.
She took Ranec aside, to avoid a big scene.

She explained she loved Jondalar and now she must leave
It was nice knowing you Ranec, and you must believe
I like you....and all, in fact, I like you a lot
But Jondalar's perfect and you're simply not.

No begging or pleading would change Ayla's mind.
Ms Perfect was leaving and he was staying behind.
What would he do without his perfect mate
Hmmm, there's always Trecie, if he's not too late.

She's not quite perfection, he'd have to settle for less
She did have a son, and could be sexy, I guess
Now Trecie had a lifetime, she could now make him pay.
She's perfect at bitching and would keep it that way!
