Page of the God and the Goddess...

Brightest Blessings to all who read...

Wicca doesn't see deity as distant. The Goddess and the God are inside of each of us. In all that sustains life, the sun and moon, the oceans, mountains, and ALL of NATURE and because Wiccans see deity in nature, many are involved in ecology. To honor the God/dess we honor and preserve our precious planet.
The God and Goddess are equal. Neither is higher or more deserving of respect. Wicca revers these twin dieties because of their links to nature. Most of nature is divided into gender. Not all, but most. Wiccans accept the male and female aspects of all that sustains life. There is nothing that isn't of the God and Goddess!

The Goddess

The Goddess is the Earth mother. She has three aspects: Maiden, Mother, and Crone which symbolize the waxing, full, and waning of the moon. The Goddess has dominion over the earth, sea, and moon. A few of her creatures include rabbit, bear, owl, cat, dog, cow, dolphin, lion, horse, scorpion, spider, and bee. The Goddess is the weaver of life and death. We can see the Goddess in all of these things and in Goddess' of times past. Many Wiccans will pick the name of a God/dess as their magikal name to evoke him or her in ritual such as Pan, Hecate, Isis, Diana, Athena or Lugh. Symbols that honor and represent the Goddess are the cauldron, bell, 5 petaled flowers, silver, the mirror, pearl, and seashells.

The God

The God is Father Sky. He is represented by the sun, rising and setting in the endless cycle that governs life. Without the sun there would be no life so it, just like the God, is the lifeforce. The yearly cycle of greening, maturation, and harvest have long been associated with the God(Sun). He has domain over the forests, deserts, stars and mountains. The God is also the keeper of wild animals. As the horned God he is sometimes seen with horns on his head which represents his connection with these animals. Some of his creatures include the bull, eagle, lizard, wolf, dragon, dog, snake, and boar. With the Goddess, the God celebrates and rules sex. Since it brings pleasure, perpetuates our species, and brings new life, it is thought of as sacred. Symbols that honor and represent the God are horns, knife, wand, candle, gold, and the diamond.

Karma and Reincarnation

Reincarnation, to me, is one of Wicca's most valuable lessons. Reincarnation is the instrument through which our souls are perfected. One lifetime isn't sufficient to attain this goal so the soul is reborn several times, each lifetime encompassing a different set of lessons until enlightenment is achieved. No two bodies or lives are the same. After death the body is dead but the soul lives on. Karma is a phenomenon that guides the soul toward evolving actions. As Buddha said "Karma means you don't get away with ANYthing". Good returns good, and Bad returns bad. We learn from Karma only when we are aware of it.
