| BLESS THAT HUNK OF METAL | |
Every evening as I'm resting
Safely in my bed
Before I sleep, this little prayer Keeps running through my head.
Please, God, bless my family,
My friends and neighbors, too; And, if it's not too much to ask,
Please, bless my 'puter, too?
You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends.
Inside those small components
Are many of my friends.
It's true that some I've never seen,
And most I've never met.
We've never hugged or shaken hands
Or shared a meal, as yet.
I'm sure, though, that they like me
By the kindnesses they give,
And that little scrap of metal
Lets me visit where they live.
By faith is how I know them
(Much the same as I know You). I share in what life brings them,
And from that, our friendship grew.
Please take an extra minute
From Your duties up above
To bless that hunk of metal
That's filled with so much love.
