NAME: Eva Fitts EMAIL: KatyClaire@aol.com OCCUPATION: Firefighter BIO: I was hired by the Rialto Fire Department at age 31 (late bloomer). My dad is a Captain in the neighboring city of San Bernardino, where he has worked since 1964 I became a firefighter because I wanted to be like my Dad< who is and will always be my hero. My parents discouraged my interest in the fire service until my Dad had the chance to supervise a new recruit named Debbie. This woman changed his mind about women on the job (thanks Debbie). With my parents encouragement and blessings I began testing in 1989 and was hired in 1991. I am single, but cohabiting with a firefighter/paramedic who works at my department. I have no children yet, but am hopeful! In the meantime, I baby our dog Buddy. I love my job and my department!
