Stitchaholic

Earth Day, April 22, 1998

Jev reminded me last night that it's been a while since I've posted an entry. I'm not really sure why I haven't felt like writing much this past week, but I guess I've been too caught up in cross-stitching to really get into it.

I managed to finish the little project for Connie on Monday, and so yesterday I started back in on Teresa Wentzler's "The Castle" and I've been stitching like a woman possessed. I managed to get a sore left arm from holding my stitching frame Tuesday, so that afternoon when Mom wanted to go to Wal-Mart, I went with her and got a floor stand to hold my frame. Made my right arm sore trying to get the screws in the bottom of the stand to hold the uprights -- I did finally get it together though -- so by late night, all I wanted to do was climb in the tub and soak. I did, and felt better.

I told Jev I needed to catch up on my sleep though, so I didn't get up and chat with him this morning. I did get up early enough to catch him for a bit, but I wasn't ready to stay at the computer, so he went off for breakfast, and I curled up with my heating pad for a while. My left arm wasn't really sore, but my right arm and shoulder were. I eventually got back to stitching -- popped a copy of Ghost into the VCR and watched that until the phone rang. It was Connie and she wanted to talk to me online, so I turned off the movie and hopped on the computer.

A while before she headed off for lunch, Jev got back from classes -- early, since his lab for the day had been cancelled. After Connie left, I worked on my cross stitch while he worked on a project for one of his classes, and we spent most of the afternoon like that. I've gotten a nice little bit of stitching done today, but I think it would still take me a few weeks at this speed to finish it all... It wouldn't be half so bad if there weren't so many color changes, but then that's what makes it such a great pattern. I just wish Jev were here to massage my shoulders and arms.
