There were so many things I really should have done today, but I didn't get any of them accomplished. Instead, I goofed off, signing up for GeoPlus, and trying to figure out just how I wanted to redo my site to incorporate subdirectories into the structure.
That's not all I did today, but it ate up a very large chunk of my time, and I'm not one step closer to being ready for my trip, or finishing up the things I need to get done before I go. Told you I'm a procrastinator, didn't I?
Mom and I did get out this morning -- first we went to one of the town's largest annual rummage sales, and then out to Wal-Mart. I spent less than $8 all told, and over half of that was on a single magazine at the store. Teddy Bears this time, rather than cross-stitch. Still, it had instructions for creating a miniature bear, and I admit, I'm tempted to try some time.
Jev and I still haven't decided for sure what we're going to do this weekend when I get there. He was ready to give up and not do anything special, but after tossing around a few ideas, I told him I really would like to go back to Ocean CIty. He's going to look into finding a room again, now that he knows what the nearest major city is. I'm crossing my fingers.
To be honest, I really wouldn't mind terribly if we didn't do anything special, but it would be nice... I do miss the ocean, even if I didn't spend a whole lot of time at the beach, growing up. I miss the smell of salt air, and the sound of the waves on the shore.
When I was about ten or eleven, Mom's then-boyfriend had a nice little trailer he could pull behind his truck. We took a trip somewhere... I think we went up north to see Hearst Castle and some other things... and one of the things I remember most is the night we slept in the trailer, parked somewhere along Pacific Coast Highway.
Anyway, I have lots I need to do tomorrow, including taking the written test for a learner's permit. I'm off to read the drivers' guide once more, and go to sleep!
