I've been pretty awful about keeping up the journal lately, but as it's almost a year since I started it, I think I should get back into the habit.

I've been back home most of a week now, and I guess I really must have enjoyed my trip, and felt quite at ease with Julie, because once I got back, I found myself being very snide and sarcastic about Missouri and being stuck living here and the whole deal. I still don't understand why the reaction to coming back home was so strong, since I was gone less than a week... I suppose I just felt like I didn't get enough of that time away. *shrug* Anyway, I'm home. And I've got about two and a half months of it before my net (hopeful) getaway.

Yep, I'm hoping to be off again in December, to spend the holidays with Jev's family. I'll be completely offline for all of his winter break, but he'll be there, and won't have to go to work, or do (much) homework (I hope), or any of that. We may wind up housebound, but at least we'll be housebound together.

For now though, I've got a couplle months to fill up. I'm on a stitching binge, watching movies (mostly on video) and rotating between two big projects: a gift for a friend's birthday (which will be in November), and the gift she gave me for my birthday. Fortunately, hers isn't too terribly large, and I've got a good deal of it done already, so I shouldn't have any problems finishing it in time. THe one she gave me is huge, and if it's done in less than a year, I'll be very surprised.

Jev is always teasing me about my stitching habit, my stash (stuff for projects I want to do), and my UFOs (UnFinished Objects), but to tell the truth, I'm getting better. I"ve finished several different projects this year:

  • Kitties in the Window -- for Mom
  • Cherished Teddie with Sandcastle -- for Connie
  • Sandcastle Journal Cover -- for Me
  • "Birdies Welcome" kitty birdhouse -- for Julie
  • Bunnie & Bear wedding announcement -- for Janice & Ben
  • Teddy Bear Stocking ornament -- for ??

Kitties in the Window was the only one I didn't *start* this year (I started it last Thanksgiving, when I was with Jev), and I've got two new UFOs on my list (Lovebirds and The North Wind (birthday present to me), but I've also made some rogress on my two bigger UFOs, one being the dragon that will be a present in November. Seems I'm more or less keeping the status quo, I guess.

Jev has decided that I need some incentive to get me to finish up some of my UFOs ... until my UFO list gets down to a reasonable number (four would be good... I think I've got 8 going now). So for now, for each UFO I finish, I'm entitled to a video. That was my choice, since I do love to watch movies while I stitch. Actually, once I've seen a movie a time or two, I tend to listen and stitch, which works quite well.

*yawn* It's quite past my beditme; hope I didn't bore you too much with my ramblings. Goodnight!
