Yep, Jev and I have been playing Scrabble again, but this time he trounced me good. We had fun though, making up phrases from the words on the board, and as we put new words down. Now I'm waiting for everyone to be ready (that is, Jev and his Mom), and we're going to play another game. I wonder how this will go...
Jev's been waiting all day for an overnight letter that was supposed to get here yesterday, but no such luck. They called yesterday afternoon and said they couldn't find us! Jev's mom gave them directions on how to get here, and they said they usually deliver here around 12:30, but we still haven't seen them.
Still no express letter; Jev's sounding pretty annoyed. I think he's annoyed over my 75 point, four-letter word in Scrabble, too, but he hasn't tortured me too much, yet. He's just making me wish I hadn't eaten too much earlier.
I got an e-mail from Dee, my friend from high school, today, saying her mom (who teaches Special-Education kids) showed off the personalized calendar Dee had made for her, while she was at work, and one of her aides recognized me from one of the pictures.
We (the aide and I) used to live in the same apartment complex out in California, and I spent a lot of time with her and her kids. Dee's mom said she had an e-mail address for me, so maybe we'll be getting back in touch. Her kids are some of the ones I've been close to over the years, and it would be nice to hear how they're all doing!
Along the same lines (old home week?), Dee also reminded me that our ten year class reunion is coming up this year. She said her mom has mentioned there's plenty of space for Jev and I to come and stay, and since she works for the school district, she should be able to find out all the info for us. So... depending on when it is, maybe Jev and I will be flying to California later this year!
Speaking of Jev, he's lying on the bed beside me as I write, so I think it's time to go now.
