Happy Holidays!
It's finally here, the Christmas letter in cyber-space!! We hope the holiday season is finding all you web-surfers in good spirits. Kim, Dennis, Godzilla, Rodan, and Tackle are all great!
Dennis has spent the last 4 months on home improvements. He has replaced all of the remaining original outer doors and windows of our house, expanded the dog pen, painted the basement, installed a sink & counter in the downstairs bathroom, installed a stationary tub in the basement, built a gunsmithing bench, replaced our old dishwasher and has vinyl sided about 2/3 of the house. Now the front of the house is red brick and grey in case you drive by and can’t find us. Siding operations have been halted until spring. The siding becomes too brittle for an amateur like Dennis to work with when the temperature drops. The new (finally!) living room carpet was installed by the professionals. When did Dennis find all this time? Well, the gunsmith he worked for decided to retire a few years ahead of schedule. This left Dennis a full-time home improvement schedule with the occasional consulting job or gun show added in. We have been having a good year at the gun shows. We’ve both managed to gather a few pearls for our collections. With the cessation of home improvement projects for the season, Dennis has officially begun seeking gainful employment. The auto parts chain he used to work for wants him back but he hated the job so bad before that it’s highly unlikely that he’ll go back there.

Kim, meanwhile, remains working full-time at Medina General Hospital and honing her gardening and computer skills in the off hours. After all, she Did create this page. She has become quite interested in her Webley and Enfield revolvers, and has become more active at the gun shows looking for these revolvers now. She is now on a quest to find Staffordshire spaniels within her budget-she'll probably be looking for a long time!!

There hasn’t been many out of town trips for the Ottos this year. Gun shows and Kim’s work have eaten into many free weekends. Vacation was way back in January in Las Vegas. There was a hiking trip in late September in the Allegheny Mountains, where Kim found she does need to wear socks on a cold night. There were bear tracks sighted but no bear. In 1998 we will be going to the Philadelphia Flower Show in March for the first time.In October we will be returning for the fifteenth anniversary of the Grenada Invasion, Operation Urgent Fury. Here are some links that might make you want to join us-and the more the merrier!
