November's Featured Friend

Nell

Nell Is a very special lady,

my first on-line Sister

Nell is married to a wonder of a man

named Boogie.

They have two lovely children

and two grandchildren.

This is Nell's Family

BOOGIE

Nell's White Knight

Nicked Name for the music he plays..

Boogie plays a fiddle and the Guitar

He calls the fiddle Misty:-)

Says it has the sweetest sound

of any he has played.

You figure out why I say

Boogie is a sweetie.:-)

Also a great Cajun cook.

Lisa

Nell's lovely daughter.

Lisa is not married just yet

but has a significant other .

She loves the outdoors

and hanging out with her Dad:-)

Shane

Nells handsome son.

Married to his pretty Anne

with two lovely and sweet children.

Anne

Zack a loving handful :-)

Ashley an angel according to Nell :-)

I first met Nell in a chat room on MSN

it was just a little over a year ago.

We hit it off from the start.

We chatted everyday

and sometimes several times a day.

We exchanged e-mail and became very close.

Nell was not the only one in that chat room

I became friends with. There were many.

Nell and I felt drawn to one another

we started calling ourselves sisters

along with another friend Peg.

Each day I know Nell ,

I love her more.

She has seen me depressed, happy and

just as I am. She loves me unconditionally.

As I do her.

She is always there for me.

Nell and I don't get to spend as much time together

as we once did . Life has gotten busy for us both,

but always I know Nell is there if I need her.

I hope she knows the same about me.

But I do miss our times together.

I decided last November to give myself

a birthday present and it was to travel

and meet some of my net friends.

No easy feat when you live in Iceland.

And your friends are scattered to the four

winds of the world.

Nell and her family live in Texas.

Peg in New York, Tony and Helen in London.

Others in Pa. Md. Va. Conn. Fla. NJ. and all over NY

Last summer I met about 26 friends from the net.

Visiting London New York and Texas and Ga.

Those I could not get to,

meet me at Pegs. She so warmly offered her home

for the get together. We have had two

wonderful picnics where we all got together

both at Pegs. We all are extremely lucky

to have someone like her to call friend.

I know this is to be Nells Month,

it is her birthday.

I wanted to do something a little special for her.

But it is hard to separate any one of us from the other,

we are all family now.

Honestly it is how it has turned out.

Nell understands that I am sure.

I was afraid

after all had been said and done,

and I had ticket in hand.

Not afraid of bodly harm.

But fearful when we met

either they would not really like me

as much as they did online

or I them.

Never have I been more wrong.

Everyone was just as I knew them to be.

And for my efforts and money

I have a new family.

Like real familie's we disagree,

we cry together,

but mostly we have fun

and love one another.

Ok Nell, so sorry I went off a wandering,

but you know how I am lol.

Nell also plays two instruments Drums and

the Guitar.

She and Boogie have a band made up of friends

who gather weekly to play and have fun.

She paints both in oil and water color.

She writes lovely poetry.

And is a warm lovely human being,

both inside and out.

Everything she does and says

is a reflection

of her inner beauty.

It shines through her eyes,

and in her smile.

Maybe that is why they say the eyes

are a mirror to the soul.

These are a few of the paintings Nell has done.

I am sorry that I do not know yet how to crop photos

or do any graphics work and it is a shame,

I cannot present her work in a better light.

But I believe the beauty in them will make up

for my lack of knowledge.

Some of this work is original

some copies of work

Nell saw and loved,

all reflect her talent and abilities.

All reflect her soul.

Look at the subject matter,

it is Nell, all things soft,

beautiful and peaceful.

Even Nell's Parrot

is a reflection

singing Amazing Grace!

Bo the Parrot and Sassy are the

animal in Nells life.

Both adorable.

Nell's sister Josie

and her Niece's

Angela and Jennifer

are also chat room visitors.

Whom I love as well.

They are an extension

of Nells warmth and grace.

In fact the entire family is warm,

loving giving and caring.

I have never been made to feel

more at home than when I visited

their home nor have I ever

enjoyed myself more.

I call them my Texas family.

We hear so much negative

about the web and internet,

I am here to tell you there is much good

to be found here as well.

After all it is where I found my friend Nell !

May your Birthday be as lovely as you are Nell.

Happy Birthday

from all your friends

CHOICES

Cast your net into the sea of life to see what you will find.

Perhaps happiness--perhaps strife, both to be combined.

We are as a tiny boat tossed into a gale,

Do we choose to float-- do we set the sail ?

We have choices to make--

and carefully we should think

of all that is at stake as we teeter on the brink.

Do we ride atop the waves, and let them take us out ?

Do we go into the caves-- and explore without a doubt ?

Many of us will choose to run, while walking will suit some.

Our choices will determine what we will become.

So carefully consider what you choose to do---

Don't carelessly flitter what God has given you !

RELENTLESS WINDS

The wind is blowing, As i sit here watching I am knowing.

Soon there will be a sound, Somewhere outside On the ground.

The leaves are clinging to the branches, Clutching desperately. As the wind blows and snatches- Still they cleave hopelessly.

While the wind is unrelenting- Reaching out with uncaring fingers, We know it to be unerring Reducing trees to barren timbers.

Unwilling to give up it's task, It will not concede Or lose it's grasp- Unyielding in it's dirty deed.

Mystified, I watch the leaves, As one by one they lose their hold And flutter down upon the ground, To blow about in winters cold.

As if running on unseen feet, They scatter about in their own defeat- Knowing death is ever near.

Summers beauty, glossy green-- All of it is gone-- No longer there to be seen, The specter of colors that we've known.

The trees are brown and bare- No protection left for them, As out the window I stare- Looking at the barren stem.

We must wait until the spring To see the beauty once again- That only spring can bring, And new life will begin.

LOOK TO YOUR DREAMS

Don’t toss your dreams into the wind, To blow about and scatter. Hold them fast and close within, Till all of them you gather.

Wondrous worlds of fantasy, And star light shining through. As you close your eyes and listen, To the dream that’s calling you.

Gather up the threads you find, And spin them into joyful dreams As cold despair is left behind, In the mist of amber moonbeams.

Cling to childhood fantasies, Hold to them with might. Listen to wondrous melodies, And feast on glorious sights.

Lay your head on pillows made of hope, Snuggle under blankets spun of love. Gaze upon the mountain slopes, And ponder sparkling lights above.

The winds of time may fiercely blow, As clumsily you tread. And the mighty rivers deep may flow, As you slumber in your bed.

But if you share your dreams with others, Then you will understand. The joy of beings brothers, In this magic place called dreamland.
