i don't want to hurt you
can't bear to see you cry
i don't want to say hello
if it becomes goodbye

i don't want to touch you
if it's only for tonight
i don't want to fall for you
if it's from such a height

cuz i don't think a moment of joy
is worth all of the pain
and i don't think a rainbow
makes you forget the rain

so i don't want to love you
if i'll lose you as a friend
i don't want to get too close
if we'll get burned in the end

i don't want to hold you now
if you'll let go tomorrow
i don't want to want you
if all it brings is sorrow

cuz i don't think a moment of joy
