i read a poem
by a stranger
and thought,
"so, you fell in love
and you got your heart broken...
me, too"
"so what?"

i want to be original
do something different
not just recycle words
as history repeats

but everything's already been said
what can I possibly offer the world?

so i put down my pen
and stare out the window

i know apathy is setting in...

but i just don't care
