Our Tribute to a Very Dear Friend

The Miracle of Friendship

There's a miracle called friendship
That dwells within the heart
And you don't know how it happens
Or where it gets its start
But the happiness it brings you
Always gives a special lift,
And you realize that friendship
Is God's most precious gift.

Remembering Bill

Bill has been a part of our life since we were all very young, and although we were sometimes seperated by miles, he has always had a special little corner of our hearts.
I can remember all the wonderful times. Whether we were fishing or playing cards, or simply visiting, Bill's wonderful, warm smile, and hearty laugh were always present. If I listen closely, I can hear him laughing up there with the angels, or telling St. Peter the best lures to use.
Bill loved life, his family, fishing, and God. Any life he touched in any way became richer. His arms would open for the nicest, warmest, "bear hug". The sun was always shining in a "Bill hug".
Bill left us last month, and is waiting there, (probably resting beside a stream) for us to join him. But our lives will be forever brightened by our remembering his robust laugh. Listen!! I can hear it.

I am Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I am free
I'm following the path God laid for me
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned away and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free.
