"I’m a really voracious songwriter," admits Mélisse Lafrance, whose Undeclared is without a doubt one of the year’s best local releases. Of course, the quality of that acoustic-based collection of personal songs has not deterred Lafrance from moving ahead with newer material. "I find I get increasingly impatient with my songs," she says. "I barely play anything from last week, let alone from the album." She has also gained the confidence to write more French songs, and will be performing a few shows in Montréal this fall. For this Sunday’s show, Lafrance promises to play a few songs that fans of Undeclared will recognize, however, in addition to "a handful" of new tunes.
