Beauty News and Gossip

As Pink Panther would say on those oldtime cartoons, Think Pink. That's what the spring 2001 season is all about. More specifically, the colours tend to be bright and loud. Hot pinks and frushias seems to be favourites along with a splash of bright orange and green.

hisedio's pink-theme collection.

Maybelline's tropical paradise themed collection - Island Hop - is full of vivid blue and bright pink.
Lise Watier - Reflexion. Shimmer and shine in pink, orange and green. This is probably one of the most wearable collection, with softer everyday colours.
Bobbi Brown - always subtle and timeless classic Bobbi Brown did it again with Opal Shine collection. The key is a pretty allover soft glow complemented by soft colours.
Shiseido PN 2001 - new collection has been toned down from the last two wilder more experimental themes. As always there's plenty of choices in terms of colour theme. Choose from the pink, blue and sharp (mix) collection. There's also a new sparkly quick-dry nail polish that dries in cold water.
Lancome - Pinksplash. Bright pinks once again.
Estee Lauder - Pretty Please, a collection inspired by fruits and flowers colours, including the ubiquitous hot pink.
MAC - Cocktail, sophisticated bold colours and defiant of the predominant trend.
Stila - Pinic collection, sheer bright colours. Also workable.
L'Oreal - Innocence. Pretty pinks that's not too loud, but if you ask me it seems a lot like their recent First Blush collection. The new site has some nice virtual makeover tool and the best digitaly done one I've seen so far. Well worth checking out.
Urban Decay - rock'n'roll inspired collection called Rock superstar. This means pretty pinks, smokey eyes, and shimmery shoulders.

There are also some cool new products out, including Max Factor's Lipfinity long-lasting lipstick, Neutrogena's skin-clearing oil-free make up (don't believe that at all), and Urban Decay's Urban Defense skincare.

Over here in our virtual world, beauty retailer Sasa's website (www.sasa.com) is finally up and running. They take international as well as HK orders. Canadian Faces Cosmetics also has a website up, though it's aimed at interested franchise owners (www.faces-cosmetics.com).
