Tempest
Atop a bluff
Overlooking a craggy shoreline and ancient ocean tides
Stands a solitary figure
Seeming to glow
Against a backdrop of glittering stars
Moonlight shines upon her shoulders
And a salty sea mist
Adrift upon a caressing breeze
Alights upon her silvery hair
To sparkle like faery dust
She gazes toward the horizon
The line between sky and sea, vanished
She can almost hear the earth sigh
As the glowing orb in the sky reaches its zenith
And she dances for her Mother
A runaway gust sends old fallen leaves
To twirl amid her bare feet
Which twist and hop in joyful abandonment
And she dances for her Father
Upon the dying grass of fall
And she dances for her self
Her arms swaying above her head
With the rhythm of the drums in her mind
Her soul free
To stand atop that bluff
And contemplate her heart
