What is Ladies' Circle Voorne?
No knitting club. Not a dance group. Nothing stuffy or old-fashioned. Ladies' Circle Voorne is a dynamic club
for young women up to the age of 45 and currently has 17 members.
A no-nonsense, hardworking, outgoing and friendly lot.
Like other Circles all over the world, their motto of Friendship and Service is constantly being realised in supporting good causes by fundraising and/or offering actual services to charities and people in need.
Friendship means taking interest in each others work, family, hobbies and other activities. Regular excursions and lectures deepen the understanding of each other and of issues at hand.
The learning and networking-aspect therefore, is significant.
Ladies Circle Netherlands (LCNL)
Our club is fully aware that it is part of a larger organisation. Within the first 6 years of its existence it has already played a significant role in Ladies’ Circle Netherlands (LCNL - 47 Circle-clubs, 750 members).
Veronique Stern, past-chairman of LC Voorne, is elected national president of LCNL 1998 and international vice-president in 2000. Anke-Thea Dijkman, past-chairman/secretary of LC Voorne, has chaired the Circle's National Service Council to raise US$24.000 for SOS Children's Villages, a donation that was accomplished by the efforts of all 47 Dutch Circles.
Ladies Circle International (LCI),
an impressive women's network!
LCI is active in 30 countries around the world and has 15.000 members. Members of LC Voorne attended the Annual General Meetings of Ladies’ Circle International in Götenburg (1995), Manchester (1996), India (1997), Cyprus (1998), Stavanger (1999) and
Sun City (2000).
Members of LC Voorne were also present at the charter of LC Poland/LC 1 Gdansk and at Annual General Meetings (AGM) and events of many other LC countries.
Meeting fellow Circlers
from faraway places is a great experience and creates greater understanding of each others culture. LC Voorne frequently receives visitors from abroad. Amongst them, Circlers from Finland, Cyprus, India & Great Britain and the LCI board 2000/2001
Be a World-Circler!
The Circle Friendship List (CFL) brings together Circlers from all over the world. This mailinglist started in October 1998 by Voorne-Circler Anke-Thea Dijkman and has over a 100 World-Circlers e-mailing with each other on a daily basis. If you like to join, then please E-MAIL US!, stating your full name and Circle name/number/country.
