This is a truly miserable disease. The victim starves themselves, and in some cases, overexercises. Food becomes an obsession. While the person is horribly thin, their distorted body image makes them think they're fat. Some of the many grotesque effects of anorexia include loss of periods, osteoperosis, bone damage, weakness, hair loss, pigment changes, skeletal appearance, stunted growth, about a trillion vitamin and mineral deficiencies, starvation, hallucinations, and even death. One of the many normal but frightening things that happens during puberty is you get hairy. You get hair under your arms, leg hair gets darker, and you get pubic hair. Also, hair in other parts of the body, such as the face, upper lip, and arms gets darker. This is a part of life. You can remove it by shaving, waxing, electrolysis, bleaching, and other ways, if you want to. Just remember that ALL WOMEN HAVE HAIR. You may see women who are smooth all over, but think of all the work they have to do to get there.
Why do women hate their bodies? Possibly an eating disorder or body image distortions, but the main reason is that we are toldto be skinny. There is the idea of freedom, which was a widespread movement in the twenties, and was the beginning of the waif-like ideal. We've also come to believe that being skinny automatically means you're healthy. This is not true. Also, as women become more powerful, more emphasis is placed on how they look. People are also afraid of being fat. It is learned behavior to want to be skinny and to hate your body. After all, you hear women saying all the time "Oh, I'm so fat!" There are many other reasons, too, but the bottom line is that this has got to stop!!!
In this world, there are millions and millions of different body shapes and sizes. If there weren't, and we all looked like supermodels, the world would be boring. It's the individuality and love of our bodies that makes them beautiful. You have a beautiful body!!
Various forms of breast reduction and implantation has been taking place since the 1900's. Many different materials have been used, including sillicone, plastic and saline solution. There are many dangers to this, including scarring, leakage, and fatal rupture of the implant during a mammogram. The bottom line is, who needs implants?? And all of that contouring and shaping junk is just bull. Comedian Denis Leary seems to speak for most men when he says, "I don't understand the fascination with breast implants. I like the real thing, no matter what the size. I like big ones. I like small ones. I think I even like the smaller ones better than the big ones. I love all shapes, all sizes. I love the ones that are shaped like golf balls, I love the ones that are shaped like teardrops. I like the melons and the pears, the footballs and the ferns. I love the ones shaped like LBJ's head. I love them all, as long as they're real."
