I was so delighted to find a page of surreal art!!! As I went down the page I kept hoping to find Rene' Magritte, and there he is!!! But Remedios Varo!!! No one anywhere seems to know of her. I discovered her work in Mexico City in the 60's. I wanted
a book of her work, was told at the museum that they had no more. They gave me the address of her husband, who was by that time, widowed. He signed and sent me her book, and he and I wrote for many months. My very favorite of her paintings is the one w
ere she is part of the checkerboard floor, coming out of it. My book of her work was long ago lost, sad to say...and I am delighted to discover her here!!! I absolutely love the bordered backgrounds that look like watercolor-painted borders.
