I remember his crazy poems ("Ah, the pelican: his beak can hold more
than his bellycan. Ah, the hell he can").
And the song about the preacher and the bear. It ends with the preacher running down the road with the "bear behind". We always asked him to sing that one. Granpa (as we called him) was bawdy, but not obscene and we loved it! I still have his banjo, a real family heirloom. Jean Pollack
