The Pentacle - The most common Wiccan symbol is that of the pentacle, or five pointed star surrounded by a circle. Now, some unknowledgable people may suddenly run up to you and yell "Spawn of Satan!" or something ridiculous like that if, of course, you have one on an article of clothing you're wearing. The pentacle is NOT a symbol of the devil. The five points stand for many different things. In most instances, four of the points stand for Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The fifth varies, really. And so does the meaning of the circle. To me, the points mean Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Spirit, surrounded by the cycle of rebirth. However, most witches do not use an inverted pentacle, or pentagram, because they considered a blasphemy of their faith.
The Cross - Even though the cross is a traditional Christian symbol, it was used in Pagan tradition as far back as the early druids. Celtic and Faery crosses are typically very detailed, with "knots" and decorations. The cross can aid in removing jinxes, bad luck, and curses. And, for those of you who believe, a cross is important in warding off vampires!
The Moon - Any moon, with or without stars, is a powerful Goddess symbol. A crescent aids in unlocking the powers of nature. It's also a good luck charm for Cancers.
The Sun - The sun is a powerful God symbol, the opposite of the Goddess. I would suppose it does the same thing as the moon, but I'm not quite sure.
The Goddess - This symbol, however it may appear, is very strong among Goddess worshipers. It can help with invoking Goddesses and helps with inspiration. It's a strong symbol of faith and it doesn't have any negative associations with it.
