Snow Hat & Scarf:
Using an H hook and worsted weight yarn:

.HAT:
Ch 38.
Row1: sc in 2nd ch and in each ch across(37 sc).
Rows 2-24: ch 1 turn (working in back loops only) sc in each sc across.
Row 25: join rows 1 and 24 with slip stitches. Leaving about
6 inches of yarn, fasten off. weave through end of row stitches and
pull tightly to form top of hat. slip stitch ,
ch twice and pull chain hard to knot and secure closure.

SCARF:
Ch 25.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch and in each ch across(24sc).
Row 2-120: ch1 turn (working in back loops only) sc in each sc across. fasten off.
Add fringe if desired.
For Children's size : hat =32 chains scarf=20 chains.
