About Neny!

WEll, what should I tell you about myself?

My Name is Neny Isharyanti, Spd. I was born in Salatiga, Central Java on October 4.

I was living in this beautiful tiny peaceful city with my Dad (Ay) and my Mom (Ib) and my grannie. They are responsible for creating such a Neny like this one! But I think they made quite an impressive job :).

I started my education in 1979 in Sinar Nyata Kindergaten and taught by Ibu Nik and Ibu Dar. I remember they used to tell us cool stories in Saturdays, took us a stroll around the school in Wednesdays and slapped our fingers with a ruler if they found our dirty long fingernails in Mondays. Gee... they really have the eyes for those tiny bad fingers. But it works! I cannot stand long fingernails until now, which is a very good habit!

Then, I headed for my elementary school in 1980 in Kanisius Cungkup I elementary school with the late Bu Karsiman (my first and third grade teacher who is very-Dutch-in-mannner. Her hobby is to make a guessing game for every unclaimed item found. She would write a number on the back of the blackboard and we had to guess what number it is. If somebody was right, s/he would win the found item. ) , the late Pak Darmo (a very- Javanese principal who loved telling us Mahabarata and Ramayana stories when our class teacher was away. I love the stories!), Bu Trees in the third grade, Bu Praptanti (who taught me a lot about creative writing) and Pak Martejo (he is very handsome like James Bond, at least before us the sixth graders...). I got some great friends too; Tini, Bagus, Agus, Sarwono, Hengki, Wasono, Warih, Esti, and many others.

My Junior High School in 1986 was in SMP Negri I and I tell you, it is a prestigious junior high since only smart students are accepted. But nothing thrilled me more that Scouting at that moment and the fact that I can be as tomboy as I want without being criticized more! Here I found my first bestfriend Tyas who remained to be the one until Senior High.

Senior High (it was SMA Negri I in 1989, by the way was when I first realized that there are some talents of organizing things and singing in me (My shouts to Jacky, Wahyu Lasdar, Hariadi, Agus He-man for our great times playing in Survival Band). Also I found great fun in cross country activities with the Ganeca Cisya and Dewi Saraswati scouting. Great bestfriends were around (hi to Tyas --- again, Lolita, Lily and Nana Manao, Mas Ary --- my bro) who made my moments in the senior high is truly memorable!

Then, I went to Satya Wacana Christian University in 1992 for my college. I always love studying English especially literature and creative writing, so I ended up in the English Department with Sue Ellen Hall, Nancy Johnson, Pak Dharmanto, Bu Martha, Mbak Nona, Mbak Tyas, Pak Nico, Ibu Raema, Leslie Foster, Cathy Tulungen as my lecturers. But, my college life is not only classes and assignments and tests, I was also into Students Association (a great work done with Natalius, Marno, Nicky Rahallus, Danny, Mas Bungkus, Kak Bobby, Davy Laloan, Andy Pataselano, Thomas, Uli Nainggolan, Adri Sabaora, and many others) and formed a cool ring of friends named GGS Crew (how's my crew Tutik, Mira, Idur, Gembul & Sixkiller?)

When I finished my college in 1997, I got a very challenging opportunity to join Sheraton Timika Hotel in Irian Jaya to be a secretary in the Business Center. And of course, I answered the challenge! So then I came to this jungle and have my first job began. Friendship is not easy to find when you know how so here comes other faces of my life : Robert, Kang Hendi, Emak Yuni, Mas Emot, Johhny,Irwan, Agung, Dike, Mas Iwan. Some of them have their creative homepages and you can view them here.

In November 7, 1998, I'm back to my old hometown Salatiga to continue my study at the Master Program on Development Studies at Satya Wacana Christian University.I was really sad leaving my bestfriends and my fiance but I need to enrich my intellectuality .

Yudi & I got married on February 6, 1999 in Salatiga. We were so happy and we shared that happiness with our relatives and friends. I will be back to Timika in July 1999 to start my new life with my husband. Wish us luck!
