Did you know that of course we heard Lucy's own wonderful mezzo-soprano voice on BITTER SUITE (and the new XENA & HERCULES cartoon film - and she replaced lookalike Brooke Shields as Rizzo on Broadway in GREASE!) and BOTH of Lucy's songs HEARTS ARE HURTING and LOVE OF YOUR LOVE have been EMMY NOMINATED! An EMMY finally for fALLEN ANGEL 2000 after 6 nominations! Gabrielle was sung by Susan Wood for Renee O'Connor, and Callisto was sung by Michelle Nicastro for Hudson Leick. They were perfect matches in vocal quality! Kevin Smith as Ares and Ted Raimi as Joxer also sang their own roles. The costumes and sets were based on TAROT cards. Lucy wrote and sang the BURIAL funeral song. It is no surprise to know that the superb Joseph lo Duca music has been EMMY nominated before(DESTINY episode), also this year for DEVI, and is out on 5 CDs.

Lucy has 5 brothers and a sister and lives at Mount Albert, Auckland, NZ - when in NZ Renee lives in Freeman's Bay, Auckland, birthday 15 February '71 - Lucy's birthday is 29 March '68. Divorced from Daisy's father Garth Lawless, Lucy married XENA producer Rob Tapert in March '98. Lucy gave birth to Julius on 16 October 99 - almost 9lbs! AND RENNEE'S MILES MUIR was born on September 22nd 2001 - almost as big!

LUCY & DAISY
Over the past several weeks New Zealand newspapers have carried reports of Lucy Lawless's efforts to combat child abuse, a problem that has cost the lives of several NZ children. In an effort to make a difference, Lucy has joined with Starship Foundation and other NZ citizens to raise awareness and to raise funds to create New Zealand's first multi-agency CARES (Child and Adolescent Recovery, Empowerment and Safety) center near Starship Hospital.
In response to the requests received from fans to support Lucy's efforts, Sword and Staff will be taking donations for the Starship Foundation's Safe and Sound appeal to help fund the creation of the CARES centers. In addition, there will a new auction up to the Sword and Staff site within the next few days. The proceeds from that auction will also go to Starship Foundation to support the CARES center.
Anyone wishing to donate to this cause can send a check or money order payable in US $ (personal checks drawn on US banks are fine, but no postal money orders, please -- they cannot be cashed in NZ). Please make your donation payable to STARSHIP FOUNDATION and I'll forward the donations to the Foundation with a cover letter indicating that the donations should be used to support the CARES program.
