CYBERFEM BARBIE'S STAMP COLLECTION:
Women on Stamps & First-Day Covers

When I attended the UN women's conference in Beijing, I picked up a booklet from the US Post Office entitled "Women on Stamps", which highlights the role women have played in American history as documented on postage stamps. You either order this fascinating brochure from the USPS or download it from the USPS website.

Another great way to find women on stamps is to collect First Day Covers (FDCs) (stamp on a commemorative envelope). An excellent resource for FDCs is Fleetwood. Fleetwood not only carries FDCs of the american women listed above, but also carries these women, too. To view the images, click here for Fleetwood's Search utility & enter a name or topic.
