Most of my childhood and youth, I spent with my girlfriends and working at my aunt’s flower shop, Solvejas Blom-Service, in Hirvlax.
At the age of 16 I went off to Coos Bay in Oregon, USA, where I attended Marshfield High School as a foreign exchange student 1987-1988.
The True Pirate Spirit!
In 1997, I payed my American host family, the Robinsons a new visit, met my wonderful relatives in California where I attended the most romantic wedding of Christine and Chris, saw the whales flip their tales, and got a true positive spirit boost. At the same time, I took the opportunity of travelling across the States with my Canadian friend Andrew.
However, the trip that maybe changed my life the most, was our two months of research in Calcutta in 1995, where we visited 25 orphanages, met Mother Theresa, had many breath taking experiences, and became famous for our never-ending singing.
India seems to be my destiny, since I now call Mumbai my home.
Other breath taking experiences have been when I've railed across Europe with my friend Katja - especially the time when we did the James Bond stunt and jumped on a running train! It was OK so far, except that my door was locked, and was I left hanging on the outside of the train, until, a few miles later, when someone finally pulled the emergancy break. (However, hanging on the outside of a train is something of a habit of mine. I had the first encounter of similar nature in India in 1995, the only difference was that that time I also had five people hanging on me.)
Katja and I are magnificent railers - we also managed to delay all the trains around the French riviera for an hour, as well as getting on the wrong train - twice!! Superb travelling, I would say! One might add to the story, that when crossing the States in 1997, I chose to take the Greyhound bus instead of AmTrack!
