The Hermit a wise old Sage

Walking down the path.
Shroud in a cloak of darkness.
Upon the hill.
A light burns above.
Come to me my child, he calls.
As he holds he lantern high
Let it be your guide

From the darkness into the light.
Reach within...
There you will find the power
to shatter the spell.
Which bonds you to this man.
Your heart shall be free,
And as light as a bird.

As he finished speaking
I knelt at his feet.
He lay his hand upon my brow.
I closed my eyes...
Reality faded into blackness
And the world fell away from beneath.

I dreamt a dream of Life.
I saw dancers, dancing to my heart beat.
They danced till the reached the sea.
They dove in and took the form of fish.
They swam to the heartbeat
Till they reached the fiery center of the earth
And changed to fire spirits and took the form of salamanders.
As they made their way through molten rock
To the center...
The discovery of a vent lead them to the surface
As they erupted into the sky
They took on the form of a single bird spirit.
Unified..
Passing the test of time
Circling the bird spirit looked upon me
She flew higher, disappearing from view.
a small object drifted down.
In the wake of the spirits passing.

I awoke, dawn breaking.
I noticed something white
At rest upon my breast.
I sat up, in my hand, a gossamer feather
Pure and white.
Glancing around for the wise sage
I discovered I was alone.
Looking at the feather, I was not alone.
Silently I gave thanks.
