As the young woman walked down a Spanish beach at dawn, she saw ahead of her what she thought to be a dancer. The old woman was running across the sand rhythmically bending down to pick up a stranded starfish and throwing it far into the sea. The young woman gazed in wonder as the old soul throw the small starfish from the sand to the water again and again. The young woman approached her and asked why she spend so much energy doing what seemed like a waste of time. The old woman explained that the stranded starfish would die if left until the morning sun.
The young woman asked: "But there must be thousands of miles of beach and millions of starfish. How can your effort make any difference?"
The old woman looked down at the small starfish in her hand and as she threw it to safety in the sea she said: "It made a difference to that one."
Remember to always do what you can.
And it will make a world of difference!
These gentle water spirits watch over all those
who make a difference in the lives of others
Those who are willing to swim out and lose sight of the shore
