Frances Farmer ‘Burned Up’; Officer Was A Bit Red, Too

SANTA MONICA, CALIF., Jan. 13 – (AP)

Frances Farmer, blonde movie actress from Seattle, was jailed today but not – the arresting detective said – before his ears were burning.

Detective Earl Reinbold reported that, accompanied by a police woman, he went to a hotel seeking the actress on a warrant charging probation violation.

They found her, but Reinbold said she asked to be allowed to take a bath. Finally, he knocked on the bathroom door.

It was flung open, he continued, and Miss Farmer, scantily clad, delivered a tirade he won’t forget for some time.

She was lodged in city jail and ordered to appear in police court tomorrow morning on the warrant, growing out of a recent drunk driving arrest.
