Miss Farmer Of Seattle Elopes With Film Actor

Mother Surprised by News of Marriage; ‘Never Heard Of’ Her Son-in-Law

Blond Frances Farmer, 22-year-old Hollywood starlet and former University of Washington dramatics student, today is Mrs. Glenn Erikson.

The Seattle girl, who was awarded a trip to Russia last year after winning a newspaper contest, eloped to Yuma, Ariz., yesterday with Erickson, the United Press reported. The couple are contract players with Paramount Studios.

Mrs. Erikson is the daughter of Mrs. Lillian V. Farmer, 2636 47th Ave. S.W., and E. M. Farmer, Seattle attorney. Her husband is from San Francisco and is working in Marlene Dietrich’s picture, "I Love a Soldier." The bride completed recently a picture, "Too Many Parents," in which she played a leading feminine part.

"I’m simply floored," Mrs. Farmer said last night, when informed of her daughter’s marriage. "Whatever she does is all right with me – it’s her life to live. I’m happy to know that she’s married and settled down – but they must have decided very suddenly. Frances has been very busy in pictures. She told me in a letter several days ago she’s just starting another."

Mrs. Farmer said she had "never heard of" her son-in-law.

The studio announced last night that the bridegroom’s real name is Leif Erikson and that he uses the name Glenn Erikson on the screen. Erikson sang formerly with Ted Fiorito’s orchestra.
