Frances Farmer, former film star whose career was interrupted more than two years ago when she suffered a nervous breakdown, came back to Seattle yesterday with her mother, Mrs. Lillian V. Farmer, 2636 47th Ave. S.W.
"Frances health is much improved," reported her mother, reviving rumors that the daughter soon will attempt a Hollywood comeback.
"Miss Farmer spent several months recently with her aunt, Mrs. Alex Castaing, at Nevada Hot Springs in Smith Valley, 70 miles south of Reno, Nev. This followed a series of escapades in which the actress was convicted of drunken driving in Santa Monica, was committed to Western State Hospital last year, released several months later and twice disappeared briefly in Nevada.
Asked if Miss Farmer is about to seek new fame in the movies, her mother replied that "Frances will make her announcement when she is ready."
