September 3rd - Day 10 - Edmonton, Alberta

Spending a day relaxing at this house of loving kindness. I picked up a book edited by Irene Zahava entitled: Finding Courage. In her Preface, she names my own feelings - and the coverup! I am cautious, careful, even fearful; but cover it quite well. At least I think I do! And sometimes such feelings are protective and needed. At other times, they can prevent us from acting when we need to, or rob us of the opportunity to try new and creative things.

What Zahava found in writing her anthology about women of courage, is that they weren't born without "fear genes" as she calls them. She concludes: These are women who act not because they are fearless; they act in spite of their fears.

This is an enchanting neighbourhood, with old houses exuding personality. The tree lined streets are cool in the heat.
