September 13th - Winnipeg to Upsala
It's a cloudy day, sprinkled with
showers. I'm awed by all the bodies of water, but can't
get any good pictures because of the weather. The rock
formations look familiar, altho they are only about 10
feet high while the ones at home are mountains! Along the
way someone has made little rock sculptures .... perhaps
a hitch hiker waiting for a ride? The terrain feels
familiar; memories of the eastern forests. There are many
large trucks on the road, and lots of road kill. One is a
brown bear, possibly born this past Spring. Perhaps this
evening I'll see some live wildlife since I'm camped by a
river. There are lots of moose warning signs on the
highway where I am. Ontario is so B I G! It will take me three days or so just to drive from Winnipeg to Sudbury. I made Profession as a Dominican 45 years ago today. I dreamt last night that I was in a field and a black and white dog came running over to me with great friendliness. |
This rock was at a roadside rest-stop. I found the
split interesting. Was there an earthquake? Some of the rocks are a beautiful pink colour. |
