George and Fezzik:

Jen's Dogs

You may find this hard to believe, but I love my dogs even more than My Green Sweater. It's true. These dogs are my children, but they are BETTER than children because they never talk back, never need a babysitter, never whine, let me have the remote control, and are always happy to see me when I get home.

Let me tell you about them!

George is named after the French novelist George Sand. (When I got her, her name was Adrianna.)

Fezzik is named after the gentle giant in The Princess Bride. (His original name was Oso.)

I adopted George from the pound in 1993. She was 8 months old, sick with kennel cough, and had been abused by her owners who had dropped her off at the pound because she barked too much. We dropped out of Obediance School once.

I adopted Fezzik from my sister's horse trainer. Fez was living on a horse ranch and finding great joy in launching himself at horse butts and chasing the chickens. Ranch dogs are not to do these things, so Fez had to go. My sister made sure that he came to live with me. (Thanks, Michelle!)

George enjoys barking at people, sleeping by the fire, big soft pillows, and trying to catch tree rats.

Fezzik loves to climb on things, especially his doghouse and the table in the back yard. He is a friend to all, and a little S-L-O-W.

Fezzik and George are great friends. George and Fezzik
