First off, get yourselves out of the
sack, you lovebirds!
Biscuits:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
and mix the following in a large
bowl:
2 cups sifted flour
3 tbs. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tbs. lard or oil
( this is needed for the dough.
You should refrain from
spreading it all over each other)
Add 2/3 cup fresh milk
(or diluted evaporated milk)
Knead with your hands until you've got a
big ball of dough.
Wash up and dry your hands thoroughly,
then dust them with flour.
Pinch off a piece of dough;
roll it between your palms until you have a
nice ball.
Flatten the ball so that it is about 1" high.
Lay it on a greased baking pan,
flipping it over so that both sides are
greased.
Repeat until pan if full.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until biscuits are
golden brown.
Gravy
In a heated pan mix:
2 tbs. pan drippings
2 tbs. flour
Stir until lightly browned
Blend in 1 cup milk
Stir constantly until gravy thickens to a
desired consistency.
Add more milk to thin.
Then add lots of lovin'
and a little salt and pepper to taste. Makes
about 1 cup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together in medium bowl:
1 cup bisquick
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Now....
in 9" x 13" pan, melt one stick of margarine,
in the preheated oven
....watch it carefully.
Take pan out when margarine is melted and
pour batter into pan.
Add fruit (I use frozen blackberries sometimes...
roughly two cups of any type fruit...
a big can of drained peaches, usually)
Kinda push it down into the batter,
but you don't have to stir it in.
Bake at 350 degrees for about one hour.
It will be a pretty golden brown when ready.
Now, get out the whipped cream or
the ice cream and enjoy!
