Appalachia Service Project 2000

June 24 - July 2

Scott County, Tennessee

5:30 Saturday morning, getting ready to go. That's the "Silver Bullet" in the background.
Front Row: Charles Henderson, Allison Nahr (group leader).
Back Row: Andy Henderson, Ryan O'Hara, Liza Stoltz, Amber Pettit, Lowell Pettit.

This is Lloyd, whose roof we repaired.

These are our living quarters. That's our stuff in the center of the room from Sylvester to the bananas.

This is the front of the house after we removed tin, 8 layers of shingles and the old lumber.
We have begun to reinstall the decking.

Amber and Liza hard at work.

Believe it or not, this is actually not posed!

Liza continues to work while Charles and Lowell survey progress.

Ryan and Andy are putting on the shingles.

Amber is not impressed with "ground control" - passing up water bottles, shingles and tools to the
workers on the roof, and pounding nails out of the boards they throw down.

This is all of us, including Lloyd, on our last day of work.

Great job everyone!
