This part of the web site is a record of Leonie and Nicki's trip to San Francisco. It will enable you to share in our travel tales to one of the most exciting cities in the US. We will be able to update you on a (hopefully) daily basis, thanks to geocities internet building tools and the computer facilities in the hotel business centre. We will even try to upload pictures taken with my digital camera, but if we are unable to do this whilst away, they will be posted in full when we return!

My adventure started early one Saturday morning just a few weeks ago. It was a phone call from Leonie with the question "do you want to come to San Francisco with me?". As I am not in a 'proper job' at the moment, the answer had to be "I would love to but I just can't afford it!". But it didn't stop there. To cut a long story short, Leonie's boyfriend Graeme was planning to fly out to join her for a week's holiday which Leonie had attached to a business trip to the city. Unfortunately (for him) a job change meant he could no longer go. As the tickets had already been bought and couldn't be refunded and Leonie didn't really want to spend the week on her own, I solved their problem by being able to step into his shoes!!!!

How ever much I am thrilled at going on this trip, I must thank yet feel disappointed for Graeme, who has so unselfishly donated this opportunity to me, and has so graciously supported our exuberance in the run up to departure.

We have both been frantically planning what will be our dream holiday. As we have both read the full series of Armistead Maupin's 'Tales of the City' novels which are set in San Francisco, which created a wonderful picture of the city, we are looking forward to seeing it for ourselves. Countless hours have been spent on the internet researching our trip, and an amazing amount of information has been gathered. Its almost like we have been there aleady!

Keep checking our website to see how we are getting on and don't forget to send us your e-mails with news from home.

Lastly, a big thank you to Jacqui - who was the sole inspiration for this site. This is due to her fantastic virtual postcard sent from her extraordinary trip to Australia. You really must check out her site - click here to go there!
