The National Association of Ladies' Circles

What's it all about?

Circle is all about fun, friends and fund-raising.
It' about trying new activities and sports, building friendships with like-minded women, about sharing interesting and varied experiences that you might usually miss.
And it's about the satisfaction of raising money to help communities and charities alike.
It's an unparalleled opportunity to expand your horizons.
But most importantly, Circle is about having a good time.

So what happens?

There are 800 or so Circles nation-wide and each one decides their own activities. They'll meet probably about twice a month, alternating business (such as planning events and fund-raising activities) with purely social activities. Sometimes these social evenings will involve a dinner or an address by a speaker, with an equal emphasis on education and entertainment.
There may also be any number of fund-raising activities, expeditions and family outings, plus joint activities with our equivalent male organization Round Table.

Who joins Circle?

Women aged 18-45. Our members include single and married women from a wide range of occupations: some are professional, some are self-employed, while others are working mums or full-time mums. Quite often their partner is a member of Round Table.
Besides being Circle members, the one thing we have in common is our zest for life - for having a good time and putting our energies and resources behind the things that we enjoy doing. The fact that many of Circle's activities actually benefit others is something of an extra, rather satisfying bonus.

What do you do for the community?

Quite simply, we organize and join in novel, often hialrious, fund-raising events. Or it could be that we just give our time to provide practical help for local people who need it most.
We also support a whole range of local, national and international charities, with well over £1,000,000 raised for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund alone.

What do I get out of joining?

Each person gets different things out of Circle. It could be the stimulating atmosphere of new friends, the excitement of new activities or it may be just a sense of achievement that you have helped others by contributing to the fun and friendship.

What do I have to do to join?

Besides being a woman between 18 and 45, probably the only other criteria for joining is being a like-minded person who wants new challenges and new horizons. After an initial period as our guest, you will be able to consider full membership and asked to pay the annula subscription. This varies from club to club, and the subscriptions are only needed to cover running costs. Then all you have to do is enjoy attending our meetings - you have the freedom to join in whenever you like.

Why not come and see what we do?

Joining Circle could be one of the best things you ever do. After you've joined us, you may wonder what you ever did with your life before. Why not give us the opportunity of showing you the sort of fun you could be having now?
