My little hand... (dedicated to my daughter)
With one hand, I cup you little hand in mine, With the other, I stroke your little head full of hair so fine. You lie there looking up at me, Full of innocense, you study me.
So much to see, so much to learn, and do, So many things I look forward to sharing with you. The best is all I want you to ever settle for, And once you've got it, I wish you to settle for even more.
Strong willed and eager to learn, I want you to work hard to earn all that you want to earn. Whether it is with your mind or your hands, I want you to give it your all. Because it's better to try and fail, Than to fail to not try at all.
I want you to always hold your head up with pride, I want you to always brush negativity aside. The best is all I want for you to ever settle for, And once you've achieved it, I want you to want to achieve even more.
So much to see, so much to learn, and do, So many things I enjoy sharing with you. You stand there looking up to me, Full of life, you will always "live" in me.
With you in my life, I am complete, and now all is fine. With one hand, I hold your little hand in mine. ~dana |

A beautiful morning... (dedicated to KMH)
My eyes flutter to filter the rays of the morning sun The surrounding warmth helps me appreciate that my day has just begun
But there is another source of warmth, and it is found wrapped around me A beating heart against my own accompanies this beautiful blanket of security
Lying in embrace, welcoming the day, knowing yesterday is left behind Our breaths are in sequence, our arms wrapped around each other, our legs entwined
We greet each other with "Good Morning", but without a single word spoken And when our eyes meet, our lips would touch, and our embrace is left unbroken.

I think of you... As the sun sets and finally, I am on my way home As I am in my car driving, dreading traffic, all alone As I near my home, I park the car, and head for the door As I enter, kick off my shoes, and drop my purse on the floor As I begin to undress, my eyes close, so tired I still feel As I enter the shower, hot water, just right, for my body to heal
I continue thinking of you... As I finish off in a room full of steam As I dry off and finish with moisterizing cream As I begin to dress, in my pj's, and lie on my bed As I try to forget all that has been done, and all that has been said As my eyes remain closed, and I continue to unwind As the night falls, I welcome my dreams, leaving today behind
I am still thinking of you... As I block out the noises of the streets and life's daily strife As my mind relazes, my body becoming heavy, my limbs without life As I fall deeper in sleep with every breath I take As I fall in and out of dreams even till I am about to awake As I am about to awaken, stretching, ready to start the day As I get ready for work, jump in my car and get on my way |

I am still thinking of you... As I am in my morning commute, once again in traffic, I sit As I owuld normally light up a cigarette, instead I just sit and wait a bit As I finally get to work, sit at my desk and prep myself for a new day As I look at myself and find myself in monotony, in this in every way As the hours pass and my days work is completed As my day at work is ended and my journey home is again repeated
I am always thinking of you... Anytime, that I am anywhere, driving for how long, mile after mile Anytime, that I am doing anything, the thought of you brings upon a smile I go through my day, content, just thinking of you I could be in the shower or in traffic even, and that's all I have to do I don't sweat the small stuff anymore, I just think of you and your love And now my days go by much easier, and that's becuase I have you to think of... ~dana |
